Paul's family
moved from Bishopbriggs,Glasgow to Lytham
St Annes where he did very badly in senior school and equally
badly in his short career as a paint salesman!
He went for a few weeks to Frejus in
the South Of France and, because he could
play the guitar and sing a bit, he got a job running entertainment
for a Club Med style holiday resort in
summer and in their ski resort in Isola 2000
in winter where a regular visitor, Dave Stewart
from the Eurythmics elected himself as
occasional lead guitarist!
Paul had a great, irresponsible time for 8 years!
He performed amongst other venues, at the Cannes
Film Festival and the Antibes and Nice
Jazz Festivals sharing the stage with
Buddy Rich, Miles Davis, Chick Corea and Blues
Legend, Dr John.
Next up, Paul worked as a musician/singer on cruise ships for a couple
of years, traveling pretty much everywhere and then worked for Hilton
International Hotels in Japan and Korea.
Whilst there, he wrote the songs that became his debut CD
Living On The Edge. To date, over 4000 copies have been sold.
It is still available from here as is the
rest of the catalogue.
On returning from Japan,
Paul went to University and got a Ba (Hons) Degree in Media Technology
and French.
The Media Technology part has assisted greatly in the total sound
that Paul creates at his live shows.
Paul has played the lead
role in three stage productions.
Firstly, the romantic comedy, The Pajama Game,
then the immortal
Carousel,
where he played the complex tragi-hero Billy
Bigelow and most recently, the suave lothario Sky Masterson
in Guys and Dolls
Paul is a member of Royal Lytham & St Annes
Golf Club and holds a Private Pilots
License (Take cover!)
So far, he has made the same amount of landings as takeoffs.
